Professor of English and director summer session, University of Louisville, 1907-1908. Lecturer, University of Bordeaux, 1909-1910.

Instructor and lecturer on contemporary poetry, University of Wisconsin, 1916-1917. Actg. assistant professor of University of Rochester, 1917-1919.

Professor of English studies, Aligarh (India) Muslim University, 1919-1922.

With Yenching, Peking National and Penking Normal universities, 1921-1925. Extension lecturer University of California, Southern Branch, 1925-1927. Visiting professor California Institute Technology, 1926.
