Watkins, Lewis Boone was born on July 24, 1945 in Beckley, West Virginia, United States. Son of Fred Boone and Margaret Theodoris (Laurie) Watkins.

Education

Bachelor of Science, West Virginia State College, 1978. Postgraduate, University South Florida, 1982.

Career

Artist in residence Boxwood Gallery, Brooksville, Florida, 1978-1979. Instructor of gifted Hernando County, 1979-1981. Artist in residence Casa Serena Gallery, Brooksville, since 1981.

Visiting artist West Virginia State College, Samford University, St. Leo College, University Tampa (Florida). Works include numerous lithograph print editions, sculpture represented in permanent collections Florida State Museum, University Florida, Gainesville, Vatican Museum, Vatican City, Italy, West Virginia Fine Arts and Cultural Center, Charleston, National Fine Arts Museum, Santiago, Chile, National Art Gallery, Chile, St. Petersbury Fine Art Museum, National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Cooperstown, New York, Boston Sport Museum, San Diego Sport Museum, also numerous private collections. Sculptures include Hernando Heritage Sculpture, 1981, Crosses of Life, 1982, Youth of Today, 1983.
