Career
He was a goalkeeper in his secondary school days. Li also had a short stint with Singapore Armed Forces Football Club Council of Europe U-18 as a goalkeeper. In 2010, On 30 January 2010, Li created a goal to help his team overturn a 0:2 deficit to level the game against Team Australia and New Zealand Banking Group of Singapore.
He netted against other teams such as Home United & Geylang United.
He also scored hat trick against Tampines Rovers & Young Lions. He scored on his first start against Beijing Guoan Talent in a friendly, as well as Woodlands Wellington.
Ended the season with 8 goals and 24 appearances to his name. Eventually, he followed his youth team coach, Sayed Kamaruddin, and joined Changi Simei Football Club. Changi Simei After being invited for a training ground tour, Li Huai Minister joined Changi Simei in 2012.
Team coach moved him to centre-half and defensive midfielder, where he developed a reputation as a strong defender and would remain in the defensive position for the rest of his career.
On 15 December 2012, he scored his first & second goal for the team against Malacca FA U-21 to level the game to 3:3 from 3:0 down in a friendly. Vipers Federal Aviation Administration Li had a trial with Vipers Federal Aviation Administration, which is a football club which plays in the NFL Division 3, the fourth tier of football in Singapore. He played as a centre back and created a goal in his debut in a friendly match.
Featured in all 7 pre-season matches, 4 as a substitute and eventually left out in the squad list just before the season start.
Li was born in Hong Kong and his family migrated to Singapore in 1999. He was a student of Nanyang Polytechnic.
