He is currently a radio commentator for Sportsound and is the main commentator for Sportscene. McLeod took a degree in Bachelor Journalism at Caledonian University. McLeod was the commentator on duty for Sportsound at Fir Park on the day Motherwell player Philosophy O"Donnell collapsed and died in a match against Dundee United in December 2007.
