She worked with Jukka Rahja in the party"s military organization. Savolainen is buried in the Field of Mars in Saint St. Petersburg and her name of found in grave of August Communists.
Savolainen was one of the victims of the Kuusinen Club Incident in Saint St. Petersburg in 1920 when radical Finnish communists killed eight members of the Communist Party in a power struggle.
