Abarbanell, Lina was born on January 3, 1880 in Berlin, Germany. Daughter of Paul A. (musical director).
Studied for stage in Berlin, Vienna and New York.
Made debut in Neues Theatre, Berlin, 1895. Appeared in grand opera at Posen, 1897, later at Royal Opera House, Berlin, in “Die Fledermaus”. Toured Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Austria and Holland: came to the United States, 1905, and made first English-speaking debut, in “The Student King,” at Garden Theatre, New York, 1906.
Played in “The Merry Widow,”, “The Love Cure,” “Madame Sherry,”, etc. Home: Evanston, Illinois†.
