Linda Hernández Rosado, joined HITN as its Chief Operating Officer in January 2009, and is responsible for all Television Operations.
Career
Prior to joining HITN, Hernandez was the Executive Director for El Nuevo Dia Orlando Newspaper, where she headed all Operations and coverage plans in the newsroom. Hernandez holds a Masters in Library Science from the University of Puerto Rico, and Certification from The Advanced Executive Program (American Electric Power) from Kellogg Institute at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Achievements
She also served as President of the Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation, where she directed the operations of the corporation, which included public radio and television stations in Puerto Rico, Vice President – News Director for the WLII – television Channel 11 for 20 years, Professor of Television Production at American University in Puerto Rico, and Founder and Director of Bibliographical Investigation Center (San Juan, Puerto Rico) Hernandez has also held various other positions with WKAQ-television Channel 2 and WAPA-television Channel 4, and was Auxiliary Librarian at the University of Puerto Rico. In the community, Hernandez has served as a Board Member for the “United Way of Puerto Rico”, She has developed promotional campaigns towards the Fight Against Domestic Violence and the Prevention of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, served as Board Director for “LatinoJustice PRLDEF”, co-founder of the Images in Movement Video Archive located in the General Archives Library and Organized the Emmy Award winning team for the Puerto Rico Public Broadcasting Corporation.
