Career
Her mother was Lily Rachel Gold. She was educated at Saint Paul"s Girls" School. She was called to the Bar at Gray"s Inn in 1971.
She was a recorder of the Crown Court 1990-2001 and was a circuit judge, 2001-2006.
She was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1991. Probably her best-known case was as prosecutor in the Anna Climbie murder trial.
She was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 1993.
