Collins graduated from Mercer University, Bachelor of Arts, 1921, and received an Master of Arts from Mercer University in 1922.
Career
Collins was nominated by President Lyndon Johnson to be a judge on the United States Court of Claims and commissioned on September 17, 1964. Collins died in office. From Mercer University in 1922.
Linton Collins was in private practice in Tampa, Florida from 1925–1926, and in Miami, Florida from 1926–1933.
During this time, Collins was on the faculty at University of Miami, 1930–1932. Collins then served as personnel director and division administrator for the National Recovery Administration, 1933–1935.
He became a first assistant to the United States deputy attorney general in 1935, rising to the office of special assistant to the Attorney General of the United States by 1944. Prior to becoming judge, Collins was in private practice in Washington, District of Columbia, 1944–1964.
