In December 2008 Georgia"s Interior Minister, Vano Merabishvili accused Tskhovrebova of lobbying in the United States on behalf of the South Ossetian Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (Committee for State Security) secret service (and ultimately Russia’s Financial Stability Board) and of spying on her Western contacts.
