She earned a Master of Arts in economics from the University of Copenhagen in 1974 and a Master of Business Administration from the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD) in Fontainebleau, France, in 1976.
Fiaux-Kruse began her professional path in 1975 as a trainee with the European Commission in Brussels. In 1977, she joined Chase Manhattan Bank in London, where she worked until 1978. She then moved to Copenhagen to serve as head of finance institute at Citibank N.A. from 1978 to 1981.
In 1981, she joined Credit Suisse at its head office in Zurich as marketing manager, a role she held until 1987. She then continued her career in Zurich as vice president of the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (Switzerland) Ltd. from 1987 to 1998. Since 1998, she has worked as an investment consultant in Zurich.
She has been active in the European Institute of Business Administration Alumni Association, where she served as honorary president, and in Zonta, where she was a past president.
