Career
Lo was the compradore of the Jardine, Matheson & Company, then one of the leading British trading firms in the Far East, until he retired in 1920. Lo was director of the China Light and Power Company and the Hong Kong Construction Company. He had also served as vice-chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and was on its executive committee for many years.
He received a Certificate of Honour on George V"s birthday in 1930.
He died at 12:30 a.m. on 30 June 1934 at his residence at Conduit Road, Mid-Levels at aged 67 after a lengthy illness, leaving estate worth 543,600 dollars. His funeral took place on 3 July and attended by most local leaders in Hong Kong.
The flag of Jardine, Matheson & Company hoisted at half mast. He had four sons, Manitoba-kam, Manitoba-wai, Manitoba-ho, and Horace and also five daughters.
Four sons were both lawyers and formed the Lo and Lo, solicitors firm.
