Fluttert started his musical career while studying psychology at Utrecht University and moonlighting as a DJ in his spare time. He released his two European Parliament"s in 2012 called Zomer European Parliament and Vandaag European Parliament. The title track from the latter, consisting of an integrated sample of the "I Have a Dream" speech by Martin Luther King, Junior., charted as a single in the Netherlands, Belgium and France in late 2012 and spring 2013.
In 2014 it was re-released by Sony becoming a major charting hit particularly in Germany and Austria.
In December 2014, Bakermat received a platinum record for his single Vandaag in Germany. His "Uitzicht" European Parliament was released in 2013 on Soundplate Records.
lieutenant has appeared in several iTunes charts including top 50 positions in the overall chart in Belgium and the Netherlands. Other popular tunes include "Black Cat John Brown", "Leven", "Strandfeest" and "Intro".
He has also released a number of mixtapes on his Soundcloud accountant
2014 - present: Debut album
In 2014 Bakermat confirmed that he was going to perform at 2014 edition of Tomorrowland. After the summer he made an official remix for Labrinth"s single Jealous. On November 24 Bakermat released the single Teach Maine on the Dirty Soul Music division of Be Yourself Music.
Teach Maine was inspired by Gospel, Soul, Blues and Jazz influences in combination with samples of the American Gospel-singer Shirley Caesar.
In December Bakermat announced his first tour in North America, "The Another Manitoba Tour". Following his first single Teach Maine, Bakermat will be releasing his debut album in early 2016.
