Career
Y.C. Embarked for France as Lieutenant Colonel. 5 Regiment, United States M.C., 1917. Served Colonel, same until appointed Brigadier General, 1919.
Cited and decorated many times. Command all forces ashore in Nicaragua in campaigns for pacification of that country, 1927-1929 so that elections there in 1928 as promised by United States under Stimson Agreement, were held under peaceful and orderly conditions. Appointed Major General, United States Marine Corps, since 1929.
