Achievements include studies of glacial prairie lake and wetland phytoplankton ecology, nutrient limitation, nutrient transport, and zooplankton predation, studies of plankton, fish and benthos ecology of the Columbia river estuary. Named Outstanding Women Educators of South Dakot, South Dakot Education Association, 1995.
