Career
Lola co-wrote Britney Spears" single "Ooh Louisiana Louisiana" and is an artist. Known for her "technicolor style, edgy popular production, and spunky lyrics," Blanc has been declared a "rising star" and "retro popular princess" by RyanSeacrest.com, a "talented popular scribe" who is "ready to make waves" by popular blog Idolator, "one badass chick" by Refinery29, and "one to watch" in 2014 by Ladygunn Magazine. She reached number 3 on Billboard"s Next Big Sound chart in April 2014.
Blanc is also a contributing writer for Vice.com.
Blanc was born in Germany to but raised primarily on a farm in Fremont, Michigan. Eventually Lola moved to Los Angeles, where she now resides, to pursue music full-time.
Lola Blanc has written songs alongside producers and songwriters such as Doctor Luke, Ammo, Bonnie McKee, Fernando Garibay, Jimmy Harry, Jonas Jeberg, Jon Levine, Chris DeStefano, and more. Blanc originally co-wrote Britney Spears" single Ooh Louisiana Louisiana with Fransisca Hall and producer Ammo for her own project
The title was intended to be a play on her name.
When Doctor Luke heard it, he thought it"d be perfect for Spears and brought in songwriters Bonnie McKee and J. Kash to rewrite the lyrics so they would better suit Spears and The Smurfs 2. Blanc has been photographed and filmed for a number of fashion and beauty brands, including Vera Wang Princess, Make Up Foreign Ever, Hot Topic and Lime Crime Makeup. YouTube celebrity makeup artist Michelle Phan has used several of Blanc"s songs (Shangri-Louisiana, April Fools, and Bad Tattoo) in her tutorial videos.
Blanc has also made appearances in a number of music videos.
She plays the lead role in the Interpol music video "Lights" and is featured in the LMFAO music video for "Sexy and I Know lieutenant," as well as the Lifehouse music video "Halfway Gone," among others
