Longteine De Monteiro was born Longteine Saphon on October 2, 1938 in Phnom-Penh, Cambodia, the daughter of Thong Saphon, a veterinarian, and Seng Siphan, a homemaker.

Career

Since 1991 Longteine has been the owner and executive chef of Elephant Walk Restaurant in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Carambola Restaurant in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Achievements

• Longteine De Monteiro is famous as a restaurateur and writer. She was a finalist for Julia Child Cookbook Awards, international category, in 1999 for The Elephant Walk Cookbook.
