Career
He has been the columnist for The Globe and Mail, Canada"s national newspaper, since 1980, and was the first editor of SCOREGolf Magazine, where he continues to write columns and features. Rubenstein has written 13 books about golf. He is a course ranking panelist for SCOREGolf and for GOLF Magazine.
Rubenstein co-hosted Acura World of Golf on The Sports Network in Canada for the 11 years that it ran.
He has written for publications around the world, including Golf Digest, Golf World, Golf Magazine, Esquire, Travel & Leisure Golf, Masters Journal, Golf Monthly (United Kingdom)., Links, Toronto Life, and others Rubenstein has co-written books with Jim Nelford, George Knudson, David Leadbetter, and Nick Price.
His latest book is a memoir of his experiences with the late Moe Norman, one of golf"s most intriguing figures. Tiger Woods told Golf Digest, "Only two golfers have ever truly owned their swings: Moe Norman and Ben Hogan." The book is called Moe & Maine: Encounters with Moe Norman, Golf"s Mysterious Genius.

The Golf Writers Association of America has presented him with four first-place awards for his writing. Rubenstein was inducted into the Ontario Golf Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Canadian Golf Hall of Fame in 2007.
The Golf Association of Ontario will present the first Lorne Rubenstein Media Award in May, 2012.
