Louis-Charles studied at Lemoyne-Owen College. In 1967 he received a degree of theBachelor of Science. In 1971 he was a student of the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School in Rochester, New York, United States. He became a Master of Divinity. In six years Louis-Charles studied at Union Seminary in New York City, United States. He received a degree of the Master of Philosophy. In a year he became a Doctor of Philosophy of the Union Seminary in New York City, United States.
Louis-Charles worked as an assistant professor of theology at Colgate Rochester Theological Seminary in New York, United States from 1974 to 1978. In this years he became a professor, academy dean of the Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio, United States. He worked there for a year. In 1979 he was a member of the faculty at the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio, United States. He worked there for ten years.
From 1985 to 1989 Louis-Charles was a professor of the faculty of the United Theological Seminary. In 1989 he became a president of the Payne Theological Seminary in Wilberforce, Ohio, United States. He worked there until 1996. From 1996 to 2001 he became a pastor of the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church in Washington, United States. Since 2001 he worked as a presiding elder of the Potomac District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church Washington Annual Conference. In a year he was a faculty member of the Ebenezer Bible Institute in Fort Washington, Maryland, United States.
