He studied architecture at the old Ohio Mechanics Institute.
He continued his training as draftsman in the office of the late Samuel Hannaford. Following a few years of association with local architects, Mr. Dittoe established his own office in the city. His work included varied types of buildings, among which should be named the Pugh Power Building in Cincinnati, one of the earliest reinforced concrete structures in that city, and the State Deaf and Dumb Institution at Danville, Ky.
Elected in 1907 to the Cincinnati Chapter, A.I.A., in the following years he held, successively, each of the Chapter offices.
