Most of his works were done for Catholic organizations which explains why one of his best well-known works is the St. Ignatius Church located in Baltimore, MD. He served in the Army of the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War.
Third member of the early established firm of Long, Lamoreau & Long. Following the death of Franklin B. Long in 1913 he continued practice in association with Mr. Lamoreau, identified with the design of a number of public buildings in Minneapolis. Among these was the Eitel Hospital and the Y.M.C.A. Building, the latter completed in 1913.
