ne of the most influential members of the Louvain school of Thomism in the middle part °1 the century, not least through his roles as ^¡rector of the Institut Supérieur de Philosophie and editor of the Revue Philosophique de Louvain. His most characteristic work is The Philosophy of Being (1946), which presents a contemporary version of Aquinas’s later metaphysics. De Raeyotaeker argues that this is a metaphysics whose central explanatory concept is that of participall°n, testimony to a strong element of Platonism ln Aquinas which is too often overlooked.
