Career

Appointed Second lieutenant June 12, 1893, First lieutenant April 26, 1898, 9th infantry. Captain, February 2, 1901, 26th infantry, United States of America. Major, January, 1903.

Served in battles of Santiago, Cuba. Guadalupe Ridge, Japote River, Calulut, Bamban and many minor engagements in Philippines. Battle of Tientsin, China (wounded), 1900.

Recommended for promotion in many battles. Awarded medal of honor for most distinguished gallantry” at Tientsin, China, July 13, 1900. Commandant Shattuck School, 1901.

Retired January, 1903, wounds. Address: Care War Department, Washington‡.
