Career
Christian has represented detainees at the American Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba. Her firm, Christian Khan, co-founded with Sadiq Khan, now a Labour Member of Parliament, has participated in wrongful death inquests, and has been involved in litigation into drug regulation. Louise Christian has long been associated with human rights" pressure group Liberty and was the Chair from July 2007 until October 2009.
She has contributed to The Guardian and is the author or co-author of several books
Politics
Christian has been prominent in left-wing politics, standing as a Socialist Alliance candidate in the 2001 election.
