He worked in partnership with Franklin B. Long and Louis L. Long in the planning and erection of a number of large public and commercial buildings in Minneapolis. Among Long, Lamoreau & Long's most important works in the city should be cited the Public Library, dating from 1885; Andrus Building, 1889 (afterward headquarters of the firm); County Court House and City Jail; Masonic Temple; Dykeman Hotel; Y. M. C. A. Building, opened in 1910, and the Eital Hospital.
