His most notable professional boxing wins are over former world champions James Toney and Ruslan Chagaev. Browne is currently under investigation for testing positive for clenbuterol. Browne turned professional on 20 March 2009.

On 26 April 2014, he scored a fifth round KO of Éric Martel-Bahoéli to claim the Commonwealth heavyweight title.

Achievements

• He is the current WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion, having previously held the Commonwealth and Australian heavyweight titles. He won his first contest by fourth round knockout. On 17 February 2012, Browne became the Australian heavyweight champion by knocking out Colin Wilson in three rounds. On 28 April 2013, he defeated the future hall of famer and three-weight division world champion James Toney by twelve round unanimous decision. Three months later, he stopped former NABF heavyweight champion Travis Walker in seven rounds. In November 2013, Browne scored a fifth round TKO of future European heavyweight champion Richard Towers. On 5 March 2016, Browne made history by becoming the first Australian to win a version of the world heavyweight championship, by stopping Ruslan Chagaev in ten rounds to become WBA (Regular) heavyweight champion in Russia.
