She competed on the first series of The Voice of Ireland, where she was eliminated in the battle rounds and was part of "Team Kian". And later was on series 4 and finished in second place on "Team Will" but lost to Stevie McCrorie. On 28 September 2015, it was announced that O'Byrne would play the role of the main character Maria in a new 2016 UK tour of The , produced by Bill Kenwright.
