Background
Kozlovkaya Ludmila Vasilievna was born on November 28, 1936 in Babchin village of Khoyniki region, Homyel. She studied in Lomonosov MSU on geography department in 1953-1957 and graduated from geologic geographic faculty of BSU in 1958.

She worked in Belarusian State Project. After graduating from postgraduate school of Economic University of BSSR in 1965, she completed a master’s dissertation. She completed a doctoral dissertation in 1981. Since 1988 up to the present day she has been the head of economic geography department of Belarus and Commonwealth states of BSU.
She has worked as a professor since 1989.Her scientific interests focus on the research of complex problems of regional economy and the placement of productive forces, the providing of rational combination of branch and territorial approach to organizing of economy. During the time when she worked on the geographic faculty she developed original programmes and lecture courses on theoretical disciplines that were new to the faculty: “The study of territorial productive complexes”, “The fundamentals of economic and geographic prediction”, “Regional management”.
She teaches the “Social and economic geography of Belarus” course and a number of special courses. Under her scientific supervision in the department several topics were explored on the research of social and economic problems of Belarusian geography. Ludmila Vasilievna is the author of more than 120 published works, among which there is a monograph, 2 manuals, sections in 14 monographs. Kozlovkaya created a scientific school on the problematics of productive forces placement and regional economy: she prepared 9 candidates and 2 doctors of science.
She takes an active part in scientific and organizational and social activity of the country and the university: she is a member of 2 councils of doctoral dissertations, a member of editorial board of “BSU Vesnik” (2 series) and “Belarusian Economic journal”. Ludmila Vasilievna was awarded with a Diploma of the Supreme Council of BSSR (1981), the Certificate of honor of the Supreme Council of BSSR (1983), a breastplate “the exemplary scholar of Belarusian education” (1996).
