Career
He also built several homes for those who were ill and disabled. In the first step towards sainthood, he was declared a Servant of God by Pope John Paul II on 1 July 1994. Pope Benedict XVI approved the decree of his heroic virtues on 27 March 2010 and recognized a miracle attributed to his intercession on 19 December 2011.
He was beatified by on 11 May 2013 in Rome by Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone, representing Pope Francis.
