Fletcher is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm medium-fast. Fletcher made his first-class debut for Nottinghamshire against Oxford University in 2008. His County Championship debut came in 2009 against Lancashire.
From 2008 to present, he has represented the county in 15 first-class matches.

In recent years Fletcher has been consistently praised for his T20 bowling, especially his ability to bowl the yorker and miserly economy rates at the death. This has seen him linked with possible call ups to the England T20 side, and also various stints overseas, including to the Wellington Firebirds.
