Career
Born in Charleston, Vermont, Cole moved to Watertown, Wisconsin Territory and started a mill. He also had a merchandise business. In 1844 and 1846, he served as sheriff of Jefferson County, Wisconsin Territory.
He served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1859.
He died in Denver, Colorado where he lived part of the time and had property.
