Admitted to Alabama bar, 1914, and practiced as associate Knox, Acker, Dixon & Sterne, Anniston, 1914-1918. United States commissioner and judge Juvenile Court, 1916-1918. Made junior partner Knox, Acker, Sterne & Liles, 1919.

Now senior member Knox, Liles, Jones & Woolf. President Lily Ice Cream Company, Crescent Stages, Inc., Crescent Motors, Inc. Vice-president and general counsel M.&H. Valve and Fittings Company.

Director Anniston National Bank, Anniston Hotel Company, Calhoun Hotel Company. Director Anniston Chamber of Commerce, Alabama State Chamber of Commerce. Southeastern Motor Bus Association.

Vice president Alabama Motorist Association.

Politics

God, who is heard throughout the Bible, calls for justice for the widows, orphans and aliens who were oppressed by the powers of the day. Therefore the involvement in political life is something that Christians should not avoid.

Views

Small groups inside the Methodist Church should be developed. Thus all members of “societies” could receive support and be challenged in their faith.
