Nam has a career high Association of Tennis Professionals singles ranking of 1250 achieved on 18 May 2015. He also has a career high Association of Tennis Professionals doubles ranking of 1554 achieved also on 11 November 2014. He won the 2015 Wimbledon Championships – Boys" Doubles along with his Indian partner Sumit Nagal, defeating Reilly Opelka and Akira Santillan in the final, becoming the first Vietnamese tennis player to win a Grand Slam trophy.
