Lydia Millet attended Paul Valéry University from 1987 till 1988 and London School of Economics and Political Science, London, from which she graduated in 1989. In 1990 Mrs. Millet finished University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving her Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude). In 1996 after graduating from Duke University, Lydia Millet earned Master of Science in Engineering Management.
Mrs. Millet worked for Natural Resources Defense Council for two years before joining the Center for Biological Diversity in 1999 as a staff writer. Her first book, Omnivores (1996), is a subversion of the coming-of-age novel. Since that time she has devoted almost all her time to writing and has created a big variety of works.
