In partnership with the late O. P. Dennis he continued active under the firm name of Dennis & Farwell until 1913 engaged in designing a number of office buildings, stores and schools. Among his most important works was the Hollywood Hotel; the old Los Angeles High School on Fort Hill, currently occupied as a business office of the Los Angeles City Board of Education; the Fay Office Building at Third and Hill Streets; the original Fifth Street Store on Broadway,, and in addition one of the first buildings on the campus of the University of Southern California.
In later years, after the partnership was dissolved in 1913, Mr. Farwell maintained an independent office in the W. P. Story Building during the rest of his life. Among his works in that period were residences in Los Angeles and Hollywood, also he designed several buildings at the McKinley Industrial School for Boys in the San Fernando Valley, one of his important commissions.
