Lynne DeCourcy was born on December 30, 1946, in Greenwich. She is the daughter of Frederick Hugo, an army officer, and Evelyn Hugo.
In 1969 Lynne DeCourcy received a Bachelor of Arts at Connecticut College. Five years after she got a Master of Science degree at Miami University.
Lynne DeCourcy is a popular writer. She authored several amazing books among which are Zone 3 and The Good Child. Lynne is also a contributor to periodicals, including Fiction Writers, Ohio Journal of English Language Arts, Calliope, Calyx, Cincinnati Poetry Review, Mid-American Review, Tar River Poetry, Women’s Words, and Wisconsin Review. DeCourcy’s novels have been published in French and in Germany, Argentina, Israel, Japan, and the Netherlands.
Her novel Swimming Lessons was adapted as the television movie Another Woman’s Husband, broadcast by Lifetime Cable Network in 2000.
The publications of DeCourcy include eight novels, one volume of creative non-fiction, two books of poetry and a children's book.
Lynne is a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship recipient. She has also received grants from the Ohio Arts Council and the Kentucky Foundation for Women. Her book Where The Trail Grows Faint, won the Riverteeth Literary Nonfiction Book Prize and her novel, A Matter of Mercy, received the 2015 Independent Publishers Silver Medal for Best North-East Fiction.
