Bachelor of Arts, Bowdoin, 1858, A.M., 1861. Admitted to bar, 1860. Captain Company I, 20th Maine Infantry in Civil War, 1862-1863.

Career

Practiced at Alexandria, Virginia, and Washington, 1864-1881. Register in bankruptcy, 8th Judicial District, Virginia, 1867-1868. Judge Circuit Court, 1869-1870.

Chairman Republican State Committee, Virginia, 1867-1869. Devoted to patent practice, Chicago, from 1881. Retired. Home: Chicago, Ill.
