The Left-Handed One is a collection (the first in English) of the poems of Lyubomir Levchev, an internationally known and widely read Bulgarian poet who has been described (by Lilyana Stephanova) as "the most contemporary of our contemporary poets." Here is a poetry in which the private vision serves the public good, in which the revolutionary spirit is harnessed for pragmatic purposes. These forty-four poems were translated by John Robert Colombo, a Toronto poet and editor, and Nikola Roussanoff, a Canadian writer of Bulgarian background.
