This is one of the oldest firms in the State of Mississippi. It began in 1866 under the name of Pittman & Pittman. Successor firms included Hirsh, Dent and Landau emerging in the 1940's as Dent, Ward & Martin.
In 1990, a successor to that 1940 firm joined with the law firm of Teller, Chaney & Derivaux, which had been founded in 1930 as Vollor & Teller, and later became Vollor, Teller & Biedenharn. Those two well established firms now bear the name of Teller, Martin, Chaney & Hassell and are composed of the present members. Throughout, the firm has been and is now engaged in a diversified practice with emphasis on civil litigation in federal and state courts, personal injuries, probate and estate planning, commercial, banking, school law, real estate and corporate practice.
All members are actively involved in professional associations and maintain leadership positions in civic and community endeavors.
