April 1917 returned to Russia. Secretary, Petrograd 2nd City Committee. Member, Petrograd Russian Social-Democratic Workers ’Party (Bolsheviks) Committee.
After 1917 October Rcvol Party, admin and military work in Pctrograd and Kiev. 1920-1921 supported Trotsky in tradeunion controversy. 1922-1925 secretary, Ural Bureau, Central Committee, Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks).
Secretary, Permanent’ and Saratov Province Party Committee. At 14th All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks) Congress sided with ’’new opposition," then joined TrotskiyZinov’evite bloc. 1927 expelled for this from the Party at the 15th Congress.
1928, after reinstatement in Party, worked for Centr Control Commission, People's Commissariat of Workers and Peasants' Inspection, then for People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade. 1935 again expelled from the Party for anti-Party activities. Arrested by State Security organs.
