Career
Gillesphey began his career with Newcastle United where he progressed through the youth ranks at Street James" Park and signed a professional contract in March 2015. He went out on loan to Carlisle United in September 2015 along with Newcastle team-mate Alex Gilliead. Gillesphey made his professional debut on 24 September 2015 in a 1–1 draw away at Liverpool in the League Cup.
