Career
He is a multiple-time Polish record holder, and a three-time medalist for the 800 and 1500 m freestyle at the European Junior Swimming Championships (2006 in Palma de Mallorca, Spain and 2007 in Antwerp, Belgium). Hreniak qualified for the men"s 1500 m freestyle at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by clearing a FINA A-standard entry time of 15:10.78 from the European Junior Championships in Antwerp. He challenged six other swimmers on the second heat, including Olympic veterans Dragoș Coman of Romania, Nicolas Rostoucher of France, and Ricardo Monasterio of Venezuela.
Hreniak edged out Coman to take the fourth spot by eight seconds in 15:16.16.
Hreniak failed to advance into the final, as he placed twenty-fourth overall in the preliminary heats.
