Maria Magdalena Forsberg, born July 25, 1967 in Ullånger, is a Swedish former biathlete and cross-country skier. She won the Biathlon World Cup year by year (1997-2002). Forsberg won six gold medals, one silver medal and six bronze medals at the World Championship and two Olympic bronze. She was awarded Jerring Prize in 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001. This is the current record among Swedish athletes.

Career
Magdalena Forsberg enjoys skiing since childhood. In 1986, she won bronze medal in the relay race at the Junior World Ski Championships. In 1987 she also won bronze medal, but only in the individual race. Magdalena Forsberg was part of the Swedish national team racing ski from 1988 to 1994. But she could not achieve significant personal results in skiing. She finished in the top ten only six times.
Forsberg started her biathlon career in “Sundsvall” sport club. In 1994 she became a part of the Swedish biathlon team. She won the Biathlon World Cup year by year, from 1997 to 2002. Forsberg won six gold medals at the World Championship, one silver medal and six bronze medals and two Olympic bronze. She was awarded Jerring Prize in 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2001, which is the current record among Swedish athletes. She ended her sport career after the Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2002 where she won her two Olympic bronze.
After his sport career, Forsberg worked as a tax consultant at KPMG and worked for SVT Sport as a biathlon expert. Now she works for the German television channel ARD as a sports presenter and has her own documentary “Magdalene world”.
