He graduated from Political Science Department of Tokyo University in 1918.
He served as acting manager of Tokyo Branch of Bank of Korea. He moved to Toyo Takushoku (Colonization) Company as vice-chief of its Fund Section (1938). He became chief of the same section in 1940, manager of Heijo (Pyongyang) Branch, chief of Accounting Section and then director of the same company and thereafter became president of Nanyo Takushoku (South Seas Colonization) Company. He held additional post of vice-president of Fujikoshi Mining Company (until 1954).
