Magozaemon Sueyoshi was born in 1570. He was the eldest son of Toshikata.

He traded with Luzon and Siam with ships which sailed with shuinjo (vermilion seal permit for foreign trade) issued by the Tokugawa Shogunate. His ships were called Sueyoshi-bune.
In leyasu's two campaigns against the Toyotomis in Osaka (1614-1615), Magozaemon assisted Ieyasu financially. For his services he was rewarded with appointment as magistrate of Hiranosho and two other adjacent districts.
