Career
Like his fellow Iranian wrestlers in 1980"s his sport career was affected by not participation of Iran at the Olympic Games 1984 and World Championships 1986 Budapest and 1987 Clermont-Ferrand. In 1986, after winning the gold medal at the Asian Games, he was criticized by Iranian media after a television interview when he said that in Iran he does not have a serious opponent in his weight class.
