1903 graduate Riga Polylech Institute. Studied at Heidelberg University.
Career
1917 set up in Saint St. Petersburg Sciences Chemistry and Technol Publ House (now State Sciences-Technical Publ House for Chemical Literature) and issued large number of reference books, textbooks and monographs on chemistry and chemical technological Then worked for Committee for the Application of Chemistry in the National Economy, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics State Planning Committee. Also worked for various other publ houses.
Wrote numerous books on history of chemistry.
