1926 graduated Sverdlov Communist University, Moscow. 1933 graduated Bauman Mech. and Machine-Building Institute, Moscow.
1920-1921 active Communist Youth League organizer in Druzhkovka and member of punitive detachment fighting rebel peasants. 1933-1937 sent abroad to gain practical experience at the United Engineering and Foundry Company, Pittsburgh, United States of America, and at the Demag Plant, Duisburg, Germany. 1944-1945 member, Soviet delegation at Potsdam Conference.
Deputy, USSR Supreme Soviet of 1946, 1950 and 1954 convocation. Attended USSR Supreme Soviet of 1958 convocation, but not re-elected. At 1952 Communist Party of the Soviet Union Congress elected member und Presidium member of the Central Committee.
At 1956 Communist Party of the Soviet Union reelected to Central Committee and Presidium. June 1957 sacked from Presidium after removal of Malenkov, Molotov and Kaganovich from Party and State leadership. Confessed his “political instability” and condemned Malenkov-MolotovKaganovich group at 21st Extraordinary Communist Party of the Soviet Union Congress.
1913-1920 worked on railroad, in agricultural, in wholesale store, and then as apprentice fitter and turner at metallurgical plants in Druzhkovka. 1920-1921 volunteer in special unit. 1921-1923 Executive Secretary, Rayon Trade-Union Secretariat, Executive Secretary, Uezd Communist Youth League Committee in Bakhmut, now Artemovsk, and Executive Secretary, Rayon Communist Youth League Committee in Konstantinovka, Donbas.
