He played college football at Tennessee. Jackson was drafted by the Denver Broncos in fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft. In 2007, Jackson was named to Super Preparatory All-Farwest, Preparatory Star All-West, Cal-Hi Sports All-State first team
Jackson was named Los Angeles Daily News All-Area Company-Defensive Most Valuable Player in high school.
Jackson attended the University of Southern California in 2008 and 2009. He transferred to the University of Tennessee in 2010.
