Postdoctoral fellow University College Cardiff, Wales, 1976—1978. Pool officer, research associate Indian Institute Chemical Biology, Calcutta, 1978—1982. Senior scientist in-charge Research and Development Organon (India) Ltd., 1982—1984.

Senior research associate Indo-United States marine project Bose Institute, 1985—1987, lecturer chemistry, 1987—1994, reader chemistry, 1994—2001, professor chemistry, since 2001, chairman chemistry department, since 2005.
